Garmin - Chris over 3 years ago in reply to MrMysakovich +3 verified If you ever experience quicker than normal battery drain after a new software update on any Fenix series watch, the issue will often be resolved by resetting your watch. I started with 95% charge. GPS only mode (no Glonnass). I played occasionally with the watch during the race, and often moved it into view to see my HR (with backlight at 50%). Halfway into the race, 7 hours in, I notice it is at 40% battery. I changed it to Ultratrac in the activity settings menu, and start avoiding using the backlight or play Fenix 3 HR update battery drain Hi guys, I havent updated my Garmin Fenix 3 HR after a while(to version 5.40), and now battery wont last more then 24 hours, also I am noticing some backlight shadows. Disable the backlight entirely, or reduce it to absolute minimum brightness (5%). Make the timeout as short as possible – e.g. 4 seconds. The backlight causes quite a lot of battery drain. During the day everything will still be visible. Assuming you’re running through the night, you’ll have a headtorch to shine onto your watch. I went to record my battery tracking stats this am and found that the 5X+ had drained 1.5% over the last hour (while sleeping). I usually power the 5X+ off, then on and the battery drain usually resumes to .2-.5%. Anyone else experience this? Firmware: SW 5.10 GPS 2.30 WiFi 2.50 CIQ 3.0.3 BMX 0.2.4 WHR 20.03.32 ANT/BLE/BT 3.00 Sensor 2.20 Yesterday I started my morning with 100% battery life, ran/hiked for 5 hours, and then normal everyday activity the remainder of the day. Battery was down to 21% when I went to bed. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but this issue starting in parallel with the release of the Fenix 7 has me scratching my head. The watch does last 7 days and more, and that’s with all bells and whistles except music. I get more than a week on my Fénix 6 Pro with all day heart rate monitor, notifications from my phone and around 3 runs a week (with GPS) but using music for an hour will remove an equivalent of a day of battery. Some watch faces will drain the battery 10-12% over a 24 hour period and others will drain 30-40% over a 24 hour period. They will track the same activities, be worn for the same periods of time and there seems to be no common issue that makes it clear as to why the big difference. ZgdL.
